A few of the birds that keep me on my toes.

The Dwarf

The Dwarf was one of my favorite birds. She had ton of personality packed in that funny body. Unfortunately she died early in the Summer of 2009. Not having her yelling for me when she was in her coop or not following me around like a puppy has been adjustment. I just hope every breeder is lucky enough to have a Dwarf in their flock.

Look closely at the pic. Do you see it? Yes, that's a young roo tucked up under his mother's wing just as she had chicks hatching. Do you think he felt a tad insecure with his new sibs hatching?

This has been the year of the boy around here. These guys all hatched at the same time.

Trying to get these peeps to stay still long enough for their photo shoot was next to impossible.

The male in the above picture is the sire of the five peeps above him.The camera has not caught their true color, they are more of a gray with a lavender undertone. As they mature these peeps will more than likely retain their gray color even though they are whites.
